Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been taken by of Health authorities during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is essential that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be dangerous.

"These kinds of products being sold, typically online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not know the impact drugs like this might have on your health."
